pearls & swine?

This is a trash can in our delivery van.  For you non-coffee folk, this is a quality whole bean hopper for a quality coffee grinder.  Not the place for trash coffee or trash, but heyyy...  You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink, and some people take showers, but then they still stink.  Stinks like that saying.  I really do like people.

I got my first set of letterpress type yesterday.  I/we can now create something other than ransom letters.  Good times.  More to come.

So, BJ is frightened to the core of his cat-bones when Sarah's father comes to town.  It's something about the tone and resonance of his voice, we think.  He runs immediately to the basement and climbs through the insulation and hides beneath the floorboards.  

He hid there for two days, and would sleep with us at night.  When the visit was over, he crept out after another full day, writhing and flipping whilst licking his shoulder blades.  The photos tell the story best:evidence of a systemic allergic reaction.

The only other detail is that Sarah is finding little Tombstone pizza cheese crumb scabs all over the house.  He's feeling much better now...

A good day at work

John and I have been working with the Boulevard brewers to get our coffee in their porter.  They are really smart with their pallet.  We say,"that's nice touch of melon there with a spicy, salty finish".  They say the same, except it's fed back in proportions of compound molecules and chains.  Smart.  Delicious... a good day.  

the family in Topeka?

We took a short trip to drink some really good coffee from PT's.  Ethiopian Aricha from a Clover was very good, as was the espresso.  Sarah thought the coffee tasted dirty, spicy and fruity like being near coffee processing.  I would say she's right.  Dirty, sweet and spicy.

Special visitors from the north...

This past weekend was spent relaxing with Grandpa Kent, Lee, and young Nate. Pela thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, and we were all happy to be together - even though the time flew as it usually does. Aside from a quick visit to the ER (we have cats, Nate has asthma - not a good combo!) on Saturday morning, the weekend was spent enjoying the beautiful weather and the wonderful company. Thanks for making the trek, all. We look forward to seeing you again soon!! More pics to follow...
