A day at the park...

Friday, Gregory took the day off from work and we spent some of it at a great park here in KC. Pela had her first splash park experience, which was definitely less than thrilling. Then again, a giant bird spraying water from the mouth is enough to scare anyone. She thoroughly enjoyed the swing, however, and spent lots of time just hanging in the grass. We were also fortunate enough to witness a hawk tearing apart a small animal under a tree only several yards from us. The weather was perfect, and we were happy to have the opportunity to enjoy it.

sounds like quite an outing! Grass, sun, swings- just the way i like to relax! The circle of life is an added educational bonus.

One of our australian shepherds demonstrated the circle of life by bringing a dead baby opossum into the living room a couple nights ago. We are counting it as science credit for the kids' home school. Fortunately the little guy was 'intact'... easier clean-up.
