Sarah, Pela and some friends had some fun at a pumpkin patch up northakansascity a couple days ago. This is a shot that reminds me of a much older time. Dunno. More to come.

beautiful weekend
our family took off for Horseshoe Canyon Ranch this past thursday. Some friends of ours were waiting for us there. So much to say, that can't be communicated in snippets. I will have sarah write some too.
Summary:amazing sandstone boulders, cliffs, cracks, stampeding goats, horses and dogs.
Pela did great camping and hanging with folks at the base of the cliffs. She is an outside girl. She loved sitting on laps under the thick stars and watching the campfire, and loved balling up in bed awaiting the three blankets to tuck her in with her stocking capped head sticking out. She crashed until 5am, when she would get up and eat and then crash with one of us until 7am. Great fun.

this last first friday
Sarah, Pela and I went out to first friday, which is the KC kinda art opening walk or what have you. The art is rarely amazing, but the scene is always entertaining and refreshing.
We celebrated getting moved in to our new place and ate some fried brussel sprouts with almonds and cranberries, followed by a brick oven potato pizza with gorgonzola and arugula.
After this, Pela witnessed her first horses and her first mounties. She thought the horses were nice to look at, and almost nice enough to touch.
Pela was the envy of all whilst decked out in owl stocking cap and modern monkey footy pajamas. [thanks for the cap g&gk]

german day at Parisi
Uncle Sal picked german for this friday's weekly cook out. These milky white sausages were ground and filled by a real german. "These little guys plump up like a baby's arm..."
delicious.
*note: seeing these cooked has turned my stomach. They look similar to the popped open stomach of a taun taun, or the thing that swallowed flash gordon. Or, steamed and peeled death.
not delicious.
