more more shots from the weekend

I am working on a short video of our hike for the site soon.  Until then, here's the recap.
Sarah, Pela and I set out to find the Swope Park boulders of Kansas City.  We had been there before, and since the weather was fair, we jumped through the weather window.

Now, hikes as the Kolstos usually involve a lot of wandering, wondering and supposing.  For instance, suppose there are boulders over there, we could wander to the next ridge, and maybe find the trail we halfway remember being there.  Usually it's not there, and we press on.  We have done it enough now to know to roll with it.  Prepare as much as we can for daylight, weather and terrain.  As long as we aren't likely to die that day, we can take it in stride.
And taking out of the equation the much needed fitness of bouldering, we could just enjoy being outside.  And we did enjoy it.  Pela liked it too.  We eventually found the boulders on the trail out to the road.  We missed it by about 500 ft.

Now we know.  Instead of climbing, we experienced: seeing a deer, deer poop,  5 lbs of mud collecting on our boots, and being outside in a state we are new to.  No complaints from us.  we had a good time.

That's it.  Stay tuned.
